The Role of Personal Assistant

As a personal assistant, you represent Hela Sveriges Assistans. In this role, you will complete a web-based training course on working as a personal assistant. Together with the client and your colleagues, you will strive for high quality while adhering to the company's values and policies.

As a personal assistant, you are responsible for reviewing information sent from the head office and, if necessary, seeking information available on the website. For other matters, you contact your supervisor or the head office.

About your role as a personal assistant with me

Assistant sought for my fantastic team! I am a 58-year-old gay man living in Malmö. I have worked in healthcare (assistant nurse) and the employment service (study and career counselor). I have a neuromuscular disease and need help with most aspects of daily life, except for communication. I am always connected to a ventilator and have a tracheostomy. All transfers are done with a lift, including transfers between wheelchairs, etc. The job consists of helping me with various tasks to make my daily life easier. You help, for example, with personal hygiene, dressing, feeding, tracheostomy care, household tasks, and anything else we need to manage in life. Outside the home, I mostly meet friends, family, go shopping, attend the theater, watch MFF matches, and do many other things. I enjoy reading books, am interested in society, and have a humanistic view of life and society.

What I hope for from you is that you preferably have a driver's license (automatic transmission). You should find it easy to learn work methods and routines, be flexible, and have the ability to blend in with me in my home. There are some heavy tasks, but the more routines you learn, the less physical strain there will be. I have assistants with me around the clock; I currently have 7 assistants aged 23–45, both men and women. You will work both single shifts and double shifts. For me, healthcare experience is not a must, but an interest in the job as an assistant is required. You, my other assistants, and I should form a good team. There is currently the possibility of hourly/full/part-time work, possibly permanent employment, and you will be scheduled 24/7. You will shadow until you and I feel it works. Training regarding tracheostomy takes place at my home. I use HSA, Hela Sveriges Assistans, as my provider and act as the supervisor for those working with me.

Job Description

Working hours are scheduled during day/evening, night, and weekends. Night shifts are awake nights.

1 - 2 positions on schedule, approx. 75-100%

The positions are scheduled on a rolling roster, meaning you will work day/evening, weekends, and awake nights.

Before we offer employment, you must show an unopened extract/digital mailbox from the police criminal record. We also require a valid Swedish work permit, for example, a passport or an approved work permit from the Swedish Migration Agency.

As a personal assistant at Hela Sveriges Assistans AB, you are covered by the Almega/Vårdföretagarnas collective agreement, including agreed pension, education, and favorable wellness benefits.
