Job Responsibilities
As a social secretary at the Housing Intake section, you serve as a point of entry for homeless residents of Malmö. The tasks are investigative in nature, with documentation, communication, and a high degree of collaboration being central parts of the work.
You will work with receiving and investigating applications regarding the right to assistance for housing according to Section 11:1 supported by Section 4:1 of the Social Services Act (SoL), as well as protection cases concerning violence outside of relationships. The role also includes providing citizens of the City of Malmö with advice and support in housing matters, as well as informing them about other municipal services where they can turn for support and help.
As a social secretary at the intake, you collaborate closely with other colleagues in the housing unit as well as other sections within the department. You also collaborate extensively with other authorities and organizations, such as healthcare. Much of the work consists of contact with individuals, both by phone and in person.
Qualifications
We are looking for you with a degree in Social Work (210 ECTS credits) who has at least one year of experience in social work. If you have previous experience working in an intake unit and experience working in Lifecare, it is meritorious. Since the work involves many conversations and a lot of work with written decisions, it is important that you can formulate yourself well in Swedish, both orally and in writing.
We would appreciate it if you had previous experience of authority work within social services as well as training in Motivational Interviewing (MI). It is also meritorious if you have previous experience with the IT support "My Plans".
As a person, we see that you, the applicant, have a strong commitment to the target group and a genuine interest in social work. Since the work involves a lot of collaboration, both with clients and with various partners, both internally and externally, it is of great importance that you have a good ability to build relationships. The work is also characterized by change, so it is important that you can easily relate to and adapt to the environment and situation. You are calm, stable, and positive even when the pace is high. Last but not least, we see that you have a curiosity that makes you interested in seeking new information and staying updated on, for example, legislation, practice, and methods in the work.
About the Workplace
The Intake Unit is the department's "way in" to the operations. The unit consists of six sections. Two sections work with homelessness and consist of the Housing Intake and the Emergency Assistance Team. Two sections are directed towards violence in close relationships and honor (one of them is an intake section and the other works long-term with the cases after the intake's initial assessment and placement). The unit also includes the Economic Intake and the Adult Intake.
We strive to be a work group with good morale and strong cohesion. We have different professional backgrounds, ages, and experiences where we support each other in our work. The unit also has a high leadership density, and support is available from the manager and the senior social secretary. For us, it is important that you as a new employee receive a good introduction, close leadership, and support in daily work. You have regular internal supervision with your senior social secretary as well as external supervision.
As an employee with us, you are offered, in addition to supervision, method development, wellness benefits, flexible working hours, and the possibility of holiday exchange.
