The Role of Personal Assistant

As a personal assistant, you represent Hela Sveriges Assistans. In this role, you will complete a web-based training course on working as a personal assistant. Together with the client and your colleagues, you will strive for high quality and adhere to the company's values and policies.

As a personal assistant, you are responsible for reviewing information sent by the headquarters and, if necessary, seeking information available on the website. For other matters, you should contact your supervisor or the headquarters.

About your role as a personal assistant with me

I am looking for a new assistant who can work for me on a scheduled basis over the summer, and continue as a casual/temporary worker thereafter.

I am a man of approximately 60 years old with an acquired disability that requires me to use a wheelchair. I can walk short distances with a walker, so I only need support during transfers.

What I expect from my assistants is that you are available if I need help, but I want to and do perform tasks I can do independently. There is an assistant room where you can sit and still be on hand.

I have epilepsy, and as an assistant, you will be shown and instructed on how to act if I were to have an epileptic seizure.

There is a small dog at my home, so you must not be allergic, and it is a plus if you like dogs. I require you to have a driver's license as I have a car that we use when I need to go somewhere.

Working hours vary between day, evening, and weekends.

Requirements

• Category B driver's license
• Fluency in Swedish, both spoken and written
• Not allergic to dogs, as there is a dog at the workplace
• Experience working as a personal assistant

Merits

We prefer that you have at least 2 years of experience as a personal assistant.

Experience with dogs, as there is a dog at the workplace.

Before we offer employment, you must show an unopened extract/digital mailbox entry from the police's criminal record register. We also require a valid Swedish work permit, for example, a passport or an approved work permit from the Swedish Migration Agency.

We train our employees to ensure the quality of personal assistance. All our new employees complete a web-based introductory training for personal assistants before their first work shift, or no later than one month after the start of employment.
