Do you want to make a difference for the city's children, young people, and young adults? Apply to the Crime Team!

About the workplace

In the city, the Social Services Department is responsible for individual and family care. Our mission is to enable residents to become independent in life so they can take an active part in society.

We have undergone an exciting organizational change focused on creating a more accessible social services system based on three main areas: authority, interventions and services, and housing.

The entire Social Services Department is currently implementing a major initiative on "Signs of Safety" and establishing a common approach throughout the organization with a clear focus on transparency, high involvement, and creating sustainable solutions together with the individual and their network.

Within the Authority business area, at the unit for intake and preventive support, you will find the Crime Team. Here, you will experience a workplace where no two days are alike. You will have the opportunity to grow through challenges, lead yourself, and positively influence and help our children, young people, and young adults in the right direction.

Responsibilities

The Crime Team exercises authority functions with the target group of children, young people, and young adults who have committed, are suspected of, been victims of, or reoffended with crimes, or are in the risk zone for criminality or substance abuse.

The Crime Team has a broad assignment involving varied tasks related to the target group. Fundamentally, the team has an intake function and handles preliminary assessments regarding concerns linked to criminality, substance abuse, and norm-breaking behavior.

The Crime Team has offices at both the Social Services Department and the Police House in Helsingborg. The offices are staffed according to a rotating schedule, and tasks vary depending on where the social worker is based. At the Police House, social workers work together with the police's youth investigators and area police officers.

We also have administrative responsibilities, which include providing advice and support, participating in regular meetings with relevant parties, disseminating information, and planning operations. The work also involves informing and consulting, among other things, about social services work and the duty to report. Business development is a natural part of the job.

What we offer

As an employee, you will have a manager close to the operations and engaged colleagues who can support and introduce you to the work and the organization, as well as access to lawyers and other support functions. Benefits include flexible working hours, an annual wellness allowance of 3,000 SEK, holiday exchange, and reduced working hours in the summer. The workplace is smoke-free and health-conscious.

Qualifications

To qualify for this position, you need:

  • A degree in Social Work (Social Worker)
  • At least two years of experience in investigation and authority work with children, young people, families, and young adults
  • A valid driver's license (Category B) and access to a car

Personal Qualifications

  • You should be well-versed in legislation to credibly represent social services towards other authorities and citizens.
  • Knowledge of risk and protective factors for young people is meritorious, as is knowledge of victimization, mediation, youth service, dropout activities, and violence-supporting extremism.
  • Experience working with young people to prevent criminality is desirable.
  • You should find it easy to collaborate both internally and externally, be self-directed, and comfortable working in a team.
  • You should feel confident holding conversations with multiple people, as both the young person and their parents often participate.
  • You should have good verbal and written communication skills.

Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.
