Job Description
The Department of Building Technology, Energy Systems, and Environmental Science at the University of Gävle is seeking a doctoral student to conduct research on PVT heat pump systems. The doctoral project is part of the national competence center RESILIENT (https://sites.mdu.se/resilient/ (https://sites.mdu.se/resilient/)).
The project aims to develop a multi-scale modeling and optimization framework for PVT heat pump systems that integrates technical, economic, and human-centered constraints, with a particular focus on the perspective of installers as key enablers for increased implementation.
This project will be carried out in close collaboration with MG Sustainable Engineering and Absolicon.
The doctoral position includes:
- Conducting the scientific project
- Completing courses equivalent to at least 60 ECTS credits
- Teaching and performing administrative tasks
- Regular participation in academic activities such as seminars and meetings

Qualifications
To be admitted to the doctoral program, basic eligibility is required (The Higher Education Ordinance, Chapter 7, Section 35), which means:
- A degree at advanced level (master's degree) or equivalent
- At least 240 higher education credits, of which at least 60 at advanced level, or equivalent knowledge.
To be admitted to the doctoral program in energy systems, a degree at advanced level in energy systems or another direction deemed equivalent by the employer, such as environmental science, is also required.
Documented experience and knowledge in renewable energy is meritorious, especially within the PVT field.
Good ability to express oneself in English, both orally and in writing, is a requirement. Ability to express oneself in Swedish, both orally and in writing, is meritorious.
To succeed in your doctoral studies at the University of Gävle, you need to be goal-oriented in your work. You need to have good ability to:

Information about admission and employment
To be admitted to the doctoral program, the applicant must be assessed as having the ability to benefit from the education (The Higher Education Ordinance, Chapter 7, Section 35). Admission is based on individual assessment.
After admission to doctoral education, an employment as a doctoral student will be offered (The Higher Education Ordinance, Chapter 5, Section 3). The employment is a fixed-term full-time position (first for one year, thereafter it can be extended by up to two years at a time).
The total employment period may not be longer than what corresponds to full-time doctoral education over four years. An employed doctoral student may, to a limited extent (maximum 20%), perform certain tasks within, for example, education and administration.
