At Friskolan Nytorp, we are currently looking for a secure, engaged, and solution-oriented student assistant who wants to make a real difference for one of our students. You will be working closely with a student studying the Nature Tourism specialization within our Nature Management program.

Your main task is to follow and support the student throughout the entire school day. The student has disabilities that require adjustments, and you will serve as a crucial pedagogical, social, and practical support. Since the program focuses on nature tourism, the study environment varies significantly – from theoretical studies in the classroom to practical sessions in the forest and outdoors. You will help the student structure their daily life, break down instructions, and create conditions for a secure and meaningful learning environment, whether you are inside the school or on an excursion.

Your main responsibilities:

• Provide continuous support to the student during lessons, both theoretical and practical.
• Assist with structure, planning, and implementation of schoolwork.
• Promote the student's independence and social participation.
• Collaborate closely with teaching teachers, special needs educators, and guardians.
• Actively participate in the outdoor and nature activities included in the curriculum.

Who are you?

We are looking for someone with a genuine interest in working with young people and a strong belief in every individual's ability to develop. You have great patience, are empathetic, and find it easy to build trusting relationships. Since the work takes place largely outdoors in all types of weather, it is important that you have a personal interest in nature and outdoor life.

Qualifications:

• Experience working as a student assistant, support assistant, or similar roles with young people.
• Experience and understanding of working with neuropsychiatric and/or physical disabilities.
• Good physical fitness and a positive attitude towards spending time outdoors in forests and nature.
• Good proficiency in Swedish, both spoken and written.
• Valid B-class driver's license.

Meritorious qualifications:

• Upper secondary education in pedagogy or teacher training.
