Do you want to make a real difference for students in need of special support?

We are now looking for an engaged special needs teacher for our central special education group. The activity is aimed at students with extensive support needs, where teaching is primarily conducted individually (one-to-one) and adapted to each student's unique prerequisites.

As a special needs teacher with us, you are responsible for planning, implementing, and following up on teaching in close collaboration with colleagues in the operation. The work is characterized by flexibility, relationship-building, and a clear student focus.

You work continuously with extra adaptations and special support, using digital tools and compensatory aids as a natural part of teaching to strengthen students' learning and development.

Responsibilities

The assignment includes:

• teaching students in various subjects, primarily in one-to-one situations
• working with social skills training as an integrated part of the teaching
• planning and conducting teaching both indoors and outdoors
• using everyday situations as pedagogical moments, for example: transfers, shopping, conflict management
• collaborating with the student's home school, including the principal and student health services
• collaborating with external actors, such as other authorities regarding the student

The work requires a holistic perspective where both knowledge development and the student's social and emotional development are in focus.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who:

• are a certified teacher
• have a special needs teacher degree with a focus on: mathematics and/or language, reading, and writing development

It is meritorious if you have:

• experience working in a special education group or similar activity
• experience working with students with complex problems
• a special needs teacher degree with a different focus than those mentioned above

You have experience working with students in need of special support and a low-affective approach, as well as the ability to work relationally with clear pedagogical leadership. You have good communication skills and are accustomed to using digital tools in teaching. To thrive and succeed in the role, you need to be flexible, solution-focused, and have good collaboration skills. You also need to be secure in your professional role, able to work independently, and show strong commitment to each student's development. Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability for this assignment.
