Polhemsskolan is Gävle's largest upper secondary school with approximately 1,100 students. The school offers 9 national programmes, including one university-preparatory programme and eight vocational programmes. At Polhemsskolan, there are well-developed work teams and extensive quality work aimed at increasing student goal achievement. The Plumbing and Property programme is a vocational programme for young people training to work in the plumbing, industrial piping, and cooling and heat pump technology sectors.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Do you want to make a difference for young people while contributing your professional expertise? Polhemsskolan is now looking for a vocational teacher for the Plumbing and Property programme who wants to inspire future professionals through knowledge, commitment, and close collaboration with the industry.
Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Teaching, having class responsibility, and being responsible for planning, implementing, and evaluating lessons, primarily in plumbing courses but also in basic courses common to the entire programme. The work is performed according to decided goals and guidelines.
- Acting as a mentor and, together with your colleagues, designing a good, enjoyable, and varied school day with the students' best interests at heart.
- Collaborating with the industry regarding workplace learning (APL) placements and programme councils. You are also responsible for supervising students during their workplace learning at external workplaces.
You challenge and support students so that they achieve good study results. The work is carried out in collaboration with student health services, guardians, and other actors outside the school.
QUALIFICATIONS
We are looking for someone who:
- Has education and professional certification in plumbing (VVS).
- Has work experience from the plumbing industry.
- Has experience and has been professionally active within plumbing.
- Can express yourself well in Swedish, both orally and in writing.
Additional qualifications for the position include:
- Knowledge of and experience with working with digital tools.
- Having a teacher's degree and authorization to teach plumbing subjects.
- Familiarity with the upper secondary school curriculum.

Interviews will be conducted on an ongoing basis.
As a final candidate in the recruitment process, it is a requirement that you present an extract from the criminal record for work in schools or preschools. You order the criminal record extract from the police website.
Employment type: Permanent position.
Duration: Permanent, start date: 2026-08-12 or by agreement.
