We are 25 creative and competent employees who, with great commitment, give children and young people the opportunity to develop in music, dance, visual arts, circus, and theater. Through teaching, ensembles, cultural experiences, and independent creation, students get the chance to explore and develop their interests and talents.

Our operations are broad and outward-looking. We arrange concerts, performances, and exhibitions, and conduct outreach activities to make culture accessible to more people.

We are also responsible for activities within the "Culture Promise" (Kulturlöftet), which ensures that all children and students in Sandviken's preschools and primary schools are guaranteed professional cultural experiences and opportunities for independent creation every school year.

The Culture School is located in functional and inspiring premises at the Culture Centre in Sandviken. Here, we collaborate closely with the library, the culture unit, and the literature house Trampolin. Teaching takes place both in our own premises and at the municipality's schools.

DUTIES

You teach children and young people aged 7-19 in percussion, both individually and in groups. The position includes leading ensembles and participating in the Culture School's band and orchestra activities.

You plan, implement, and develop teaching based on the organization's goals and work closely with colleagues, students, and management. You are responsible for your students and build good relationships with both students and guardians as well as colleagues.

We are looking for someone who can work independently and take responsibility for their tasks, while also seeing the value of collaboration and actively contributing to the quality and development of the operations.

The role also involves participating in projects and initiating and taking part in concerts, performances, and holiday activities. You are an active part of the Culture School's joint work and contribute to developing students' musical expression at all levels. Student influence is a natural starting point in your work.

The position is 70%, with evening and weekend work occurring. Probationary employment may be applied.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for you who have a pedagogical degree from a university college of music with percussion as the main subject, or other education and experience that the employer deems equivalent. You have experience teaching children and young people and are a skilled musician with broad competence in percussion.

You have good pedagogical skills and a strong commitment to supporting the development of children and young people through cultural practice. You can awaken and deepen students' interest in music and inspire and adapt teaching based on each student's individual prerequisites and needs.

As a person, you are self-reliant, structured, and responsible. At the same time, you find it easy to collaborate and communicate with students, guardians, and colleagues. You have good digital competence and feel confident using digital tools.

Experience working in a culture school is meritorious. We place great emphasis on personal suitability.

A B-driver's license is a requirement, and access to a personal car is meritorious. An extract from the criminal record is required before employment. A teaching trial is included as part of the recruitment process.
