About the Workplace

Stigslunds School is a workplace with approximately 600 students, of whom 330 are in the lower secondary school (grades 7-9), and about 60 employees. It is a school covering grades F-9, located in a beautiful outdoor setting about 3 km from Gävle city center. Over the past year, we have received several new school buildings that have positively impacted the learning environment. We actively work on preventive and health-promoting efforts to maintain a safe environment and good peace of mind at our school. We create good conditions for this through dedicated educators, an active student health team, and an engaged school leadership. We have good cooperation with homes, which is important and a prerequisite for our success in our mission. About the Role and Focus Areas

At Stigslunds School, grades 7-9, we currently have a special focus on mathematics, where we have invested more resources in the subject. Stigslunds School grades 7-9 will also participate in a mathematics project spanning 3 years. The purpose of the project is to systematically develop mathematics teaching. In the Stigslunds principal's area, we work specifically on developing students' reading competence. After conducting screenings, we carry out specific reading interventions. We are also investing in developing reading competence in all subjects.

Responsibilities

As a special needs teacher in the Stigslunds principal's area, you will participate in the area's special pedagogical professional meetings and you are an important support in the school's preventive and health-promoting work. Your duties include:

• Teaching students in need of special pedagogical interventions, both in groups and individually.
• Investigating students' needs for special support.
• Developing action plans.
• Conducting screenings.
• Providing some collegial guidance to teachers.
• Working closely with teachers, school leadership, and other student health staff, and being a driving force in the school's student health team.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who has:

• Teacher certification with eligibility to teach mathematics, as well as further education as a special needs teacher in mathematics.
• Several years of experience as a teacher and experience teaching students with special needs in mathematics, both individually and in small groups.
• Knowledge of the primary school curriculum and the ability to express yourself well in Swedish, both orally and in writing.
• Knowledge and experience of working with digital tools, and you use these as a natural part of your pedagogical work together with students.

• In social contexts, you are proactive and build trust in your professional relationships.

• You are structured and plan your work well. You have the ability to see what needs to be prioritized, are efficient, and use resources to achieve the best possible results.
