Job Description

We are looking for a substitute student support assistant (elevresurs) for one of our students who is starting grade 9 in the lower secondary school. The student is cheerful and social, with a great sense of humor and a twinkle in their eye. The student has a disability and uses a wheelchair.

As a student support assistant, you will be with the student throughout the entire school day. You will provide support and help with schoolwork, but also assist with mobility within the school premises. This means the role may involve some lifting using assistive devices.

As a student support assistant, you will follow the student throughout the school day and contribute to creating a safe and functional school routine. You will provide support in teaching based on the student's needs and help with practical tasks during the day. The student uses a wheelchair, and the role may involve some lifting with assistive devices.

You will work in close collaboration with teachers and other school staff to create the best possible conditions and a safe school day.

About the Position

Your Profile

We are looking for someone with a high school diploma, preferably with a focus on pedagogy or care and assistance. You have experience working with children and young people, as well as experience working with individuals with disabilities.

You have good physical fitness, as the role involves assisting the student with mobility. You also have good proficiency in Swedish, both spoken and written.

As a person, you are secure, sensitive, and responsible. You have a positive attitude, are flexible, and enjoy working closely with others. You easily build good relationships and communicate clearly and respectfully. Since you follow the same student throughout the entire school day, it is important that you are stable, engaged, and have a warm and welcoming approach.

As the position involves working with a person under 18, a certificate of good conduct for assistants and for work in schools is required.
