To the Department of Building Technology, Energy Systems and Environmental Science, we are now seeking an Associate Professor in Building Technology. The position is a fixed-term appointment of 11 months with a scope of 100 %.

Responsibilities

The areas of responsibility include teaching courses in architecture, building technology, environmental science, building materials, building construction, geotechnics, as well as other courses related to the main field of building technology. Supervision of degree projects is a natural part of the position. Administrative work related to the above tasks may occur. The duties also include conducting laboratory work in the university's laboratories. Teaching takes place on campus at both undergraduate and advanced levels, in both Swedish and English. Research may be included in the competence development period if the operations allow it, alternatively through the acquisition of external funding.

The workplace is Gävle, and the majority of working time is campus-based at the University of Gävle.

Qualifications

For the position of Associate Professor in Building Technology, it is a requirement that you have:

• A degree at an advanced level in building technology or equivalent,
• Experience in pedagogical activities and demonstrated good pedagogical skill in courses within building technology,
• Good ability to express yourself in speech and writing in both Swedish and English,
• Good knowledge of CAD, BIM, and FEM.

The assessment is made with regard to pedagogical skill and subject-specific skill.

It is meritorious if you have:

• Experience from research projects within the subject group's profile area.
• A doctoral degree in building technology, environmental science, energy systems, or a subject that the employer finds equivalent.

Great importance is attached to personal qualities such as good ability to collaborate and communicate.
