AKG Sweden is looking for a Pedagogue for a value-creating role – IPSU!
AKG Sweden AB is a dynamic company that has grown rapidly, from approximately 15 employees in 2023 to over 200 dedicated colleagues today. As part of Angus Knight Group, a global player in education, employment, and social services, we are dedicated to making a positive difference for individuals and communities. We work to broaden participants' perspectives on the labor market and career opportunities, focusing on their needs and development.
IPSU – Individual Pedagogical Support in Education is a valuable and high-quality service procured by the Swedish Public Employment Service (Arbetsförmedlingen) with the ultimate goal of fulfilling its strategic responsibility in labor market policy by giving more people the chance to complete education in various professions with labor shortages.
To make educational efforts accessible to job seekers with disabilities, the Swedish Public Employment Service offers special pedagogical support in the form of IPSU through our interventions. Read more about the role on our website: www.akgsverige.se (http://www.akgsverige.se)
As an IPSU Pedagogue, you are the one who works closest to our participant under the guidance of our special needs educator. The assignments vary greatly and may involve a pedagogical setup where you meet the participant for several hours each day or just a few hours per week.
The pedagogical support for each participant takes place at various educational providers, implying a varied and developing workday. It is therefore important that you enjoy a changing work situation. On some courses, part of the lessons take place outdoors.
Your task is to contribute to the participant having the prerequisites to complete their studies through special pedagogical methods and the use of technical aids, apps, etc. You are a complement to regular teachers and are not expected/required to teach or know the subjects in the current course plan. The role entails broadly:
- Pedagogical work supporting participants in an educational setting.
- Collaboration and dialogue with staff at the various actors conducting the educational interventions relevant to our participants, e.g., teachers at labor market training providers.
- Participation in collegial forums, follow-ups, and quality work.
- Collaboration and dialogue with the various actors conducting the educational interventions relevant to our participants, e.g., teachers at labor market training providers, folk high schools, and preparatory education.
- Collaboration with responsible specialists such as audiologists, special needs educators, vision pedagogues, sign language competence holders, or licensed occupational therapists.
- Reporting and documentation regarding implemented interventions in various systems.
Your workday will be flexible, challenging, and highly value-creating!
At AKG Sweden, we work in a team-based manner and you will join a collegial forum where development and collaboration are natural parts of the workday. To thrive with us, we believe you enjoy testing different approaches and methods to continuously evaluate, and that you thrive both working independently and as part of a team.
Since the role involves many contacts within and outside the organization, you need to have an easy ability to build trusting relationships with people.
In the employment culture at AKG Sweden, there is an expectation that everyone, i.e., YOU yourself, takes responsibility for increasing your self-awareness regarding the conditions you need to feel good and succeed in your work – and dares to communicate these to your colleagues. Then we can handle most things together!
