ABOUT THE ASSIGNMENT

The Individual and Family Care department in Vindelns Municipality wants to give people the opportunity and conditions to release and strengthen their abilities to live an independent life. We are looking for you who are 18 years or older and have the time and commitment for assignments as a contact person or contact family.

The people waiting to get a contact person or contact family in Vindelns Municipality are of varying ages and with different prerequisites. In the matching process, we take into account the individual's wishes regarding, among other things, age and interests of their future assignment holder. For this reason, we are in need of people of all ages, with different experiences and interests - to create as successful matches as possible. As an assignment holder, you are bound by confidentiality.

Contact Person

As a contact person, you are expected to be a fellow human being who promotes social contacts and counteracts loneliness. The assignment may, for example, involve giving people with disabilities or social difficulties increased opportunities to have contact with others and to participate in community life.

Contact Family

As a contact family, you regularly host a child in your home. How often and how long the child stays with you depends on the child's needs, but it may involve a few days per month.

The assignment is about supporting the child based on their individual needs, for example, by giving the child an extended network or routines. This can include supporting the child with, for example, homework and leisure activities. It is important that you listen to the child's views and wishes. You also need to maintain contact with social services and the child's parents.

ABOUT YOU

Before you submit your expression of interest, you should have considered whether you have a secure and stable life and work situation. It is important that you have an orderly life and the space needed to support someone else for a longer period, at least one year. As an assignment holder, it is important to have good social skills, to be able to take initiative for various activities, and at the same time be responsive to needs and wishes.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

In the recruitment process, a suitability assessment is made through checks of suspicion and criminal records, but also in the social register. The combined assessment also includes an interview and reference checks.

Note that assignments as an assignment holder are not counted as a regular employment; it is counted as a voluntary assignment where you receive compensation in the form of an honorarium. The compensation for the assignment is given in two parts, an honorarium and an expense allowance.
