The Disability Care Services in Umeå Municipality aims to be a resource that empowers and strengthens people's ability to live independent lives through proximity and interaction.

Individuals under the age of 65 who have a disability and extensive needs for support and assistance can apply for personal assistance. A personal assistant helps someone with basic needs, such as eating, dressing, washing, and communicating. The assistance is individually tailored and aims to provide increased opportunities for people with disabilities to live an independent life.

We are currently looking for two personal assistants for a female user living in Ersboda. If you want to work in a role that truly makes a difference and enjoy helping others and creating meaningful days, this might be the right job for you!

Your responsibilities

You will support and assist a woman who lives with her husband in her daily activities and routines. The work takes place primarily in the home but also at other locations where the user is present in their daily life. You contribute to creating structure and order by maintaining good routines.

The work includes, among other things, care, transfers, outdoor activities, and other common household chores. You work according to existing routines, are active in development areas that are implemented and planned, and also handle some administrative tasks such as documentation.

- Heavy lifting occurs; transfer aids must be used.

About you

As a personal assistant, you need to be attentive and empathetic, with the ability to focus on the user's needs. You are responsible, reliable, and enjoy creating safety and structure in everyday life. Flexibility and patience are important, as is good teamwork skills and respectful treatment. Practical tasks are often part of the role, so attention to detail and a positive attitude towards helping where needed are valuable traits. We place great emphasis on personal suitability.

To communicate with users, relatives, and colleagues, write and read care documentation, and receive medication delegation, you must have good knowledge of the Swedish language in both speech and writing.

Other

The position is a permanent part-time employment, 30-60% according to agreement, with a planned start date of 2026-09-01. Working hours are scheduled during the day, evening, and weekends.
