The disability care services in Umeå Municipality aim to be a resource in close cooperation with individuals, freeing and strengthening people's ability to live independent lives.

Persons under the age of 65 with a disability and extensive needs for support and help can apply for personal assistance. A personal assistant helps someone with basic needs, such as eating, dressing, washing, and communicating. The assistance is individually adapted and should provide increased opportunities for people with disabilities to live an independent life.

We are currently looking for personal assistants for a female user residing in Sörfors. If you want to work with something that truly makes a difference and enjoy helping others and creating meaningful days, then this might be the right job for you!

Your responsibilities

You will support and help a woman with her daily activities and routines. The work takes place primarily in the home but also in other places where the user is in their daily life. You contribute to creating structure and order by maintaining good routines.

The work includes, among other things, care, transfers, outdoor visits, and other common household chores. You work according to existing routines, are active in the development areas that are carried out and planned. Additionally, some administrative tasks are included, such as documentation.

• Lifting heavy objects occurs; transfer aids must be used.
• Working hours are scheduled during the day, evening, weekend, and on-call nights.

About you

As a personal assistant, you need to be receptive and empathetic, with the ability to focus on the user's needs. You are responsible, reliable, and enjoy creating security and structure in everyday life. Flexibility and patience are important, as well as good teamwork skills and respectful treatment. The role often involves practical moments, so attention to detail and a positive attitude towards helping where needed are valuable traits. We place great emphasis on personal suitability.

Requirements

• Category B driver's license and access to a personal car
• Unimpeded skills in the Swedish language in speech and writing

Merits

• Trained nursing assistant, care aide, or other healthcare education
• Experience in care work
