About the role

We are currently looking for a Test Engineer for one of our clients who wants to help develop the future Android-based infotainment systems. You will become part of a competent development team where quality, innovation, and collaboration are in focus.

In this role, you are responsible for ensuring the performance, stability, and reliability of Android-based infotainment and HMI platforms. You will work through the entire development process – from developing test strategies and automating test cases to validating complete systems and contributing to major Android OS upgrades. The role involves close collaboration with developers and system engineers where you will work with both embedded software and physical hardware to ensure a robust and user-friendly product.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and execute test plans for Android-based infotainment and HMI systems.
• Validate functionality, performance, and system stability throughout the entire hardware and software stack.
• Develop, maintain, and improve automated test cases in Python.
• Review requirement specifications and identify defects, ambiguities, and quality risks early in the development process.
• Participate in the validation of Android OS upgrades, including regression tests and compatibility checks.
• Develop test benches and simulators to emulate external nodes and machine interfaces.
• Collaborate closely with developers and system engineers to analyze problems and improve product quality.
• Maintain clear test documentation and reporting.

We are looking for someone who:

• Has at least three years of experience in test automation with good knowledge of Python.
• Has experience testing infotainment systems in the automotive industry or other embedded systems.
• Has experience with Android/AOSP test tools, test frameworks, and debugging methods.
• Has a good understanding of complete systems and can evaluate functionality from a user perspective.
• Has knowledge of CAN communication and related diagnostic tools.
• Has good command of English, both spoken and written.

It is an advantage if you have:

• Experience with validation in connection with Android OS upgrades or platform migrations.
• Knowledge of communication protocols and hardware interfaces in the automotive industry.
• Previous experience in similar roles.

About the employment

This is a consultancy assignment, which means that initially, you will be employed by Friday. The ambition from both our client's and Friday's side is that after a period, you will be offered a direct employment with the client.
