We are looking for a Solution Architect for private cloud infrastructure, virtualization, and Open Source technology in assignments where security, availability, and operational reliability are critical. At Combitech in Gothenburg, you will help build robust platform solutions for customers in industry and critical societal functions – within a corporate culture that encourages professional and personal development, security, and work-life balance.

Your role as an OpenStack Solution Architect

You will become part of a team developing infrastructure and platform solutions for data collection, data storage, analysis, automation, AI, and visualization. Our solutions are used in assignments within defense, infrastructure, public sector, and Industry 4.0.

The assignments involve the design, implementation, troubleshooting, and further development of private cloud solutions. You will contribute broad knowledge of OpenStack-based virtualization solutions: from servers to network and storage. By working towards increased automation and good traceability, you meet customers' high demands for robustness, scalability, information security, and control.

Due to the wide variety of our assignments, there is an opportunity to be involved in all parts of the lifecycle, from architecture discussions and design choices to concrete implementation and final deployment.

Who are you?

We are looking for someone with at least 2-3 years of experience in Linux, virtualization, and infrastructure, and who has competence in OpenStack. You are analytical, systematic, and able to understand the big picture in complex systems. As a person, you enjoy sharing your knowledge and discussing solutions with both experienced and junior colleagues. You can switch between making strategic design choices and implementing the solution hands-on.

We believe you have experience in several of the following areas:

• OpenStack or other virtualization and private cloud platforms
• Linux administration and troubleshooting in complex environments
• Network, storage, and compute in virtualized environments
• Automation using tools such as Ansible, Terraform, or Puppet
• Monitoring, performance, capacity planning, and lifecycle management

It is an advantage if you have experience in related areas such as container management or underlying hardware. Experience with locked-down environments with limited connectivity is also beneficial. Finally, we would appreciate it if you have a strong interest in FOSS and the open source community.

A suitable educational profile is a Master of Science or Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or Information Technology, or another Master's/University degree with a focus on software development and IT infrastructure. You must be able to communicate fluently in Swedish and English, both orally and in writing.

As the position involves work covered by defense secrecy, you are required to undergo and pass a security clearance with background check.
