We are now looking for an experienced biomedical engineer who wants to continue developing their experience and knowledge within the Stockholm County Council's healthcare area (SLSO).

About the Role

Within the biomedical engineering area, SLSO is responsible for ensuring structured, safe, and quality-assured handling of biomedical equipment.

The work involves developing and maintaining guidelines for biomedical equipment in close collaboration with healthcare operations and business support functions such as procurement, finance, and IT. The assignment also includes establishing and further developing the biomedical organization within SLSO.

You will support operations in matters concerning biomedical products, deviation management, investigation of incidents and adverse events, and translating requirements into operation-specific working methods.

Examples of Tasks

  • Ensure compliance with current laws, regulations, and quality requirements.
  • Drive and develop strategies for biomedical equipment and systems.
  • Be responsible for planning, implementation, and lifecycle management of biomedical products.
  • Participate in and lead procurements and prepare technical specifications.
  • Lead or participate in development and implementation projects within biomedical engineering and digitalization.
  • Conduct environmental scanning and contribute to business development.
  • Provide specialist competence in biomedical issues for the entire organization.
  • Represent the organization in external forums.
  • etc.

Qualifications

  • University degree or Master of Science in Engineering in biomedical engineering, computer science, electronics, or equivalent education assessed by the employer as equivalent.
  • Work experience within biomedical engineering.
  • Experience in developing and maintaining quality systems within biomedical engineering.
  • Good knowledge and experience in the IT field. Knowledge and understanding of GDPR.
  • Good proficiency in Swedish and English, both spoken and written.

We consider it meritorious if you have:

  • Education or knowledge in biomedical networks or biomedical systems.
  • Experience from large organizations or corporations.
  • Experience in change management.
  • Experience from the public sector.
  • Experience within the healthcare sector.

You are a confident, structured, and responsible person with good service awareness and high integrity. We are looking for someone with good collaboration and communication skills, as well as the ability to build trusting relationships with various stakeholders. You are analytical, solution-oriented, and have good judgment with the ability to prioritize and make well-founded decisions even in complex situations. As a person, you are flexible, proactive, and actively contribute to the development of operations with a focus on quality-assured working methods and high patient safety.

The position will be filled subject to it not being needed for internal reassignment, according to current regulations.

For patient-facing work within Stockholm County Council:

  • A register check is applied before a decision on employment according to SLSO's overarching guidelines for register checks upon employment.
  • Employees who will have patient contact must undergo a pre-employment health examination, according to current directives, which is conducted through occupational health services before employment.
  • Requires, in addition to a Swedish professional license, good knowledge of the Swedish language corresponding to level C1 according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). The same requirement is guiding for non-licensed personnel with patient contact.
