The Security Department at the Swedish National Defence College is now looking for a specialist with a focus on information security.
About the Workplace
The Security Department is organized as part of the institution's operational support and covers preparedness, crisis preparedness, security protection, and operational security. The position is part of the security protection and operational security area but may also be involved in other areas. The employment is located in Stockholm.
Responsibilities
Your responsibilities include overseeing information security, including security within and around information systems. You will be responsible for developing and implementing requirements based on security protection legislation. Analysis work and advisory services within information security will also be part of your duties, as well as developing methods and processes. In this role, you will have many contact points and collaborate with internal and external partners. You will work closely with the IT Department. Through environmental scanning, you will keep yourself updated within your field of competence. You will also participate in security protection analysis and security protection planning. Duties include, among other things:
- developing and implementing policy documents for information security
- analyzing security incidents
- participating in IT projects to integrate security into system development
- conducting training within the operational area
- working with security protection analysis and security protection plans
Duties may change over time as the operations develop. You will collaborate closely with the Head of Security and Security Protection.
Who are we looking for?
We are looking for someone who has:
- a relevant academic degree or other education/work experience that the Swedish National Defence College assesses as equivalent
- several years of current work experience in qualified security protection work within information security
- relevant knowledge in security protection acquired through education or work experience
- knowledge of security standards such as ISO 27001
- excellent ability to express yourself in speech and writing in Swedish
The following are considered merits:
- experience leading projects in building and security technical matters
- current experience conducting training in security protection
- knowledge of NATO regulations for information security
- certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CEH
- experience working with risk and/or security analyses
- ability to communicate technical solutions to non-technical users
- experience working with security frameworks, intrusion detection tools, firewalls, and encryption technologies
- experience with special security protection assessments prior to system commissioning
- experience in cyber/IT security work
- experience working in the public sector, preferably from agencies and/or universities and colleges
The above qualifications must be verifiable upon request through certificates, references, as well as work or selection tests.

The work requires good collaboration skills and the ability to build good relationships. You find it easy to collaborate with different professional categories and actively contribute to a good work climate in the work group.
Great importance will be attached to personal suitability.
About the Employment
This is a permanent, full-time position, starting with a six-month probationary period.
The employment involves placement in a security classification. For placement in a security classification, a security investigation with register check will be conducted prior to employment according to Chapter 3 of the Security Protection Act. Swedish citizenship may be required.
The employment may involve war posting. If you are already war-posted in your current employment at an agency and your competence is needed in the Swedish National Defence College's war organization, a negotiation will take place between the relevant agency and the Swedish National Defence College regarding where you should be posted.
