About Us
School Support (Skolstöd) is an interdisciplinary team within the Education Department of Sollentuna Municipality. We support the municipality's primary schools with complex issues ranging from high absenteeism to special support processes, and challenging or disruptive behaviors among children and young people.
The team consists of specialists from various professions, such as psychologists, special educators, and social workers, working together to provide qualified support in individual student cases and in the development of schools' promotional and preventive work.
Responsibilities
As a Behavioral Scientist/Social Worker in School Support, you will have an important role in strengthening the schools' ability to handle issues such as:
- Students with high absenteeism
- Students with disruptive behaviors
- Psychosocial problems
- Cases where multiple actors need to collaborate
The role also includes:
- Coordinating assignments and preparing decision support materials for the Education Board and management group
- Responding to political motions if needed
- Conducting investigations and contributing to case processing
The focus is primarily on providing support, guidance, and qualified analysis to school staff. This is done through observations, supervision, and various training initiatives.
Your tasks will include, among other things:
- Providing analytical support through observations, conversations, and documentation.
- Supervising, consulting, and educating.
- Supporting schools in developing measures and adaptations.
- Working closely with principals, student health teams, and other school professionals.
- Contributing to collaboration with guardians and external actors.
- Participating in an interdisciplinary team working both strategically and operationally.
The assignment is varied and can develop over time based on the needs of the operations.
Qualifications
We are looking for you who have:
- Relevant higher education, such as a degree in behavioral science, social work, or other education deemed equivalent by the employer.
- Experience in investigative work.
- Experience working with children and young people in need of support.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to handle complex situations.
- Ability to communicate clearly with different professional groups.
- High flexibility and the ability to adapt to new situations, thriving in a changing daily routine.
- Good prioritization skills.
It is an advantage if you have experience from schools, social services, habilitation, Child and Adolescent Psychiatry (BUP), or similar operations.

Interviews will be held on-site at the Municipal Office in Sollentuna during week 33.
