Do you want to help create safe and stable conditions for children and young people placed in foster care? Then you are warmly welcome to apply to us!

The Foster Care Service in Järva works with children and young people aged 0–21 who are placed in foster homes. The operation consists of 39 employees distributed across two units with close collaboration. As an employee, you will receive close daily support from your team leader and become one of two family therapists in the team. You will collaborate closely with colleagues and other actors around each child to create the best possible conditions for the child or young person.

What we offer

At the unit, we have an present and accessible management that provides support in daily work. Each team leader is responsible for approximately eight employees.

There is also the opportunity to engage in various work groups based on interest, such as an APT group, a well-being group working with work environment and community, and a group focusing on external collaboration.

Your role

As a family therapist, your mission is to contribute to sustainable foster care placements and safe reunions by, among other things:

  • working with foster homes and biological parents who need to strengthen interaction, communication, and interaction with the child/young person
  • working with children and young people with complex needs
  • supervising foster homes when there is a need for strengthened support in the assignment
  • preparing for and participating in visits

The work involves recurring travel, both short and long distances. Some evening work may occur. You will also work on the development of the foster care service together with colleagues and management. The position is independent and involves responsibility for a number of own assignments as well as ongoing documentation.

Your competence and experience

We are looking for you who have:

  • A degree in Social Work (Socionom)
  • Good ability to express yourself well in Swedish, both orally and in writing
  • Experience in therapeutic work with children and parents

It is meritorious if you have:

  • Experience working within the foster care service
  • Education and experience working with Mafi or Martemeo
  • Category B driver's license

We are looking for you who are flexible and adapt easily to changed situations and the needs of different families. You are stable and secure in your professional role, which creates trust in complex and sometimes demanding cases. You are engaged and actively contribute to the development of working methods and collaboration within the team. You have good collaboration skills and work constructively together with colleagues and other partners around the child or young person. You are relationship-building and have an easy time building trusting relationships with children, young people, families, and other actors, always with a listening and respectful approach.
