Your role
As a support assistant, you provide support to a small group of users. All employees also have a support person role, which means having extra responsibility for some of the users.
The role includes:
- Together with your colleagues, you adapt activities and tasks for users in your team.
- You are a motivating support and guide to strengthen and facilitate the user's active participation in their activities.
- You draw up an implementation plan together with the user and/or representative, follow up on interventions, and are the closest contact for the user's network.
- For some users, you also provide support in the care needed and guide the personal assistants who accompany the users to the daily activities.
- Create good relationships with the people who are important to the user.
- Each week, each team has a meeting where user-related issues are discussed and interventions are evaluated.
The unit works actively with the method of opportunity analysis to strengthen our salutogenic view of the users and is also certified in the Pedagogical Framework since 2021, working further with different focus areas since then.
Your competence and experience
We would like you to have completed a high school program within the Child and Youth program with a focus on social work or pedagogical work, or alternatively the Care and Nursing program with specialization in the program deepening disability. Alternatively, other education that the employer considers equivalent.
You should also have:
- Experience of working in daily activities.
- Knowledge of different disabilities and their consequences, as well as knowledge of support for cognitive difficulties.
- Familiarity with different aids used to strengthen functions in people with disabilities.
- Knowledge of different types of alternative and augmentative communication (AAC) and various communication aids.
- Ability and experience in using clarifying pedagogy.
- Knowledge of the legislation governing the operations and the basic values of the LSS (Act concerning Support and Service for Persons with Certain Functional Impairments).
- Good knowledge of social documentation and knowing how to plan for and follow up on set goals together with the user and/or representative.
- Very good knowledge of the Swedish language, both in speech and writing.

Your application
For work with elderly and people with disabilities in their homes within Stockholm City, you are required to present an extract from the criminal record. The extract must not be older than six months and is ordered via the Police Authority's website.
