At Universitetsholmens Gymnasium, we are looking for a vocational teacher for instruction on the Electrical and Energy program. This position is a temporary substitute role for the academic year 2026/27. Work with us and help shape the future of the people of Malmö and society.

Job Responsibilities

As a vocational teacher, you work to ensure that students develop their full potential – both academically and socially. You support, motivate, and stimulate each student to meet the knowledge requirements based on their prerequisites, preparing them for their future professional roles. Your work includes planning, teaching, and assessment, as well as evaluating and developing the pedagogical operations in accordance with the school's guiding documents. Through mentoring, you support students in their academic success and conduct development conferences.

We are a learning organization that promotes knowledge exchange, placing you in an environment characterized by collegial learning and development. Together with colleagues, you work to create a good learning and working environment for both students and staff. You also contribute to the quality and development work at the school.

Qualifications

Requirements:

• Trained vocational teacher with the qualifications to teach core courses on the Electrical and Energy program. Alternatively, a completed education in the relevant field at the upper secondary or post-secondary level, as assessed by the employer.
• Several years of professional experience from the current industry and very good subject knowledge
• Experience using digital tools for communication and pedagogy
• Very good Swedish language skills, both spoken and written.

Merits:

• Qualifications to teach in automation technology, energy technology, electrical technology, installation technology, and/or computer and communication technology
• Industry-specific certification
• Experience in teaching and/or supervision.

We are looking for someone who is confident in the role of a vocational teacher and creates good conditions for students' learning and development. You adapt the teaching to the student's and group's prerequisites and prior knowledge through a creative approach and very good pedagogical skills.

Your work style is characterized by good structure, and you prioritize and organize tasks efficiently. Furthermore, you contribute to good collaborations and communicate openly, clearly, and listen attentively to your surroundings. You have an understanding of how students' backgrounds, culture, and previous experiences affect learning and interactions, and you create an inclusive learning environment where everyone has the opportunity to succeed.
