Home Support Worker Wanted – Make a Difference in People's Daily Lives

Do you want to work on strengthening people's independence and contributing to a meaningful daily life? We are now looking for an engaged home support worker who wants to work alongside and sometimes for our users in their daily lives.

About the Position

As a home support worker, you work with individually tailored interventions in the user's own home. The assignment is to support people with mental disabilities based on their needs and implementation plans, with the goal of strengthening independence, reducing isolation, and creating structure in daily life.

The work is recovery-oriented and is based on motivating, guiding, and involving the user in their own development.

Tasks

The role includes, among other things:

• Providing support in daily chores such as cleaning, cooking, and personal care based on individual needs
• Helping to create structure and routines regarding planning, economy, and time management
• Motivating, supervising, and activating the user to meaningful activities
• Accompanying to, for example, healthcare visits, authority contacts, and social activities
• Being an attentive and supportive sounding board in daily life
• Documenting according to current legislation and the organization's routines
• Collaborating with colleagues, licensed personnel, relatives, and other actors
• As a contact person, you have a special responsibility for implementation plans and follow-up of interventions

About the Role

As a home support worker, you work closely with the individual in their own home and daily life. You provide both practical and social support, sometimes by guiding and sometimes by actively helping to carry out tasks.

The role also involves:

• Working based on assistance decisions according to the Social Services Act (SoL)
• Promoting the individual's participation and influence
• Noticing changes in well-being and initiating interventions if necessary

We are looking for someone who

• Is engaged, attentive, and has a genuine interest in working with people
• Can motivate and build trusting relationships
• Has the ability to work independently and take responsibility
• Is structured and comfortable with documentation
• Has good collaboration skills
• Experience of working in psychiatry, social work, or similar is meritorious.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for you who are a social worker or have a social pedagogical education, or have other education that is relevant to the position. You have a professional attitude and a positive mindset.

You need to have an interest in developing social psychiatry in the municipality.

You should have a good ability to express yourself well and understandably in both speech and writing and have the ability to convert theoretical knowledge into practical action.
