At our Investigation Unit, you will work closely with children and young people involved in crime and/or substance abuse, contributing to ensuring they receive the right interventions at the right time. Your Responsibilities

You will be one of several social secretaries at the Investigation Unit, led by two unit managers. The unit consists of four work groups, three of which focus on traditional investigation work. As a social secretary in our fourth work group, you will become part of an engaged team where different competencies meet and complement each other.

Here, HVB (residential care) case managers, the network team, and our strengthened investigation team work.

The group works with institutional placements (HVB/SiS), network work, and complex investigations – often in situations requiring creativity, courage, and innovative thinking. You ensure that placed children and young people receive the right support and that care is secure, legally sound, and follows set goals.

In your daily work, you will primarily:

  • Work with children and young people in crime and/or substance abuse, together with their families.
  • Maintain contact with HVB and SiS homes, follow up on interventions, and ensure that care, support, and treatment needs are met.
  • Meet and converse with children, young people, and their families in a respectful and sensitive manner.
  • Be present where the young person is – which may involve longer travels.
  • Document according to BBIC standards and ensure high quality in investigations and assessments.
  • Plan and follow up on the care chain together with colleagues and external actors, ensuring decisions are implemented and sustained over time.

Your Qualifications

To be considered for this position, you need to have:

  • A degree in Social Work (Social Work Bachelor's)
  • A valid driver's license (Category B)
  • Good proficiency in Swedish, both spoken and written
  • Good computer skills
  • Ability to take responsibility, make decisions, and work independently in your profession
  • Ability to remain calm and professional in pressured and complex situations

We are looking for someone with a clear child's perspective and who sees the child's participation as a natural part of the work. You are good at creating safe relationships, collaborating closely with colleagues, and building good contacts with external actors.

The following competencies will be particularly important in the role:

Networking – You create and nurture relationships that strengthen collaboration around children and young people. You build bridges both internally and externally to ensure that the right interventions can be implemented and that care processes maintain high quality.

Transparent Communication – You are clear and open in how you convey information – to children, guardians, and professional actors alike. You adapt communication to the recipient's needs, explain decisions and reasoning, and contribute to creating clarity and security.

Problem Solving – You analyze complex situations, make professional assessments, and find sustainable solutions even when conditions change rapidly. You use facts, dialogue, and judgment to make well-founded decisions.

Planning and Organizing – You organize your work in a way that ensures investigations, placements, and follow-ups maintain high quality. You structure information, prioritize correctly, and ensure the care chain functions over time.
