Do you want to make a real difference for children and young people?
As a Social Secretary at the Investigation Unit, you are part of a dedicated team working every day to strengthen safety, security, and development for the residents of Halmstad Municipality. Here, you will use both your professionalism and your heart in a operation where every effort counts and your skills contribute to ensuring children and young people receive the support they need.
Your responsibilities
As a Social Secretary with us, you will be one of several employees across four teams within the Investigation Unit. The unit is led by two unit managers and consists of social secretaries and social workers with various areas of expertise. Each team has close daily supervision by a Senior Social Secretary. We are currently seeking an investigative Social Secretary for children and young people aged 0–20. The Investigation Unit consists of four teams. Three of the teams are dedicated investigation teams, while the fourth team consists of HVB (residential care), a network unit, and social secretaries with special assignments. The team possesses broad experience in areas such as institutional care (HVB/SiS), network work, and complex child and youth investigations – a context where your competence is both valued and developed.
You work closely with children, young people, and their families, ensuring they receive the right support based on their needs. The role is varied and meaningful, requiring courage, sensitivity, and the ability to quickly adapt when situations change.
In your daily work, you will, among other things:
- Conduct investigations for the target group of children and young people aged 0–20.
- Ensure quality in documentation according to BBIC standards.
- Meet and speak with children, young people, and their families.
- Collaborate closely with colleagues, cooperating partners, and other professional actors.
For you who appreciate a dynamic workday where you are both challenged and grow, we offer a work environment with ample opportunities for learning and development.
Your qualifications
To be considered for the position of Social Secretary, you must meet the following requirements:
- University degree in Social Work (Social Work Bachelor's degree).
- Valid driver's license (Category B).
- Good proficiency in Swedish, both spoken and written.
- Good computer skills.
You must also have the ability to take responsibility, make decisions, and work independently in your professional role. You maintain professionalism even in pressured and complex situations and adapt to the needs of different individuals. A clear child's perspective is a given for you, and you see participation and respect as the foundation for good work. You are also relationship-building and contribute to a positive climate within the work group.
The following competencies will be particularly important in the role:
Networking – You create and maintain trusting relationships, both internally and externally. In daily life, this means you actively seek collaboration, share information, and build networks that strengthen the investigation work and the support measures for children.
Transparent communication – You communicate openly and clearly, adapting your message to the recipient. This is evident in how you guide children and parents in an understandable way, share relevant information with colleagues and cooperating partners, and ensure that all involved parties have the prerequisites to understand the process.
Problem-solving – You analyze situations, identify obstacles, and develop sustainable solutions. In practice, this means you quickly grasp complex cases, weigh different perspectives, and find ways forward that benefit the child's best interests.
Planning and structuring – You create order in your work and plan to maintain high quality and deadlines, even when many things are happening simultaneously. This is shown through how you organize cases, document correctly, and ensure processes are followed.
We place great emphasis on personal suitability.
