The Role of Strategist - Social Sustainability

There are significant differences in living conditions among the county's residents, which is clearly visible in factors such as education level, employment, and health. Residents of the county should have the opportunity to feel included, contribute, and have equal access to society's resources and opportunities, regardless of background or where they live in the county. For socially sustainable development, it is crucial to reduce these intra-regional disparities by improving the living conditions for our residents. Therefore, we are looking for a strategist who can develop and drive the work on social sustainability based on the regional development mandate.

As a strategist in social sustainability, you will be part of coordinating, developing, and following up on the work regarding social sustainability based on the Regional Development Strategy, as well as being a resource to support and develop the work within Region Jönköping County's Sustainability Program.

In the role, you will build and develop working methods in collaboration with other actors, both within Region Jönköping County and external actors in the county. You will have an advisory and supportive function in the long-term work to further integrate social sustainability into Region Jönköping County's operations and work. This includes, among other things, work with national minorities, collaboration regarding Agenda 2030 and human rights, gender equality, as well as national and regional political goals and assignments.

The position also involves conducting analyses and producing knowledge and decision-making materials. Tasks may develop over time based on the employee's experience and knowledge. The position is full-time with start date by agreement.

Your Profile

We are looking for you who have several years of experience working with social sustainability. We see that you have an academic degree or other education that the employer considers equivalent. You have a good ability to see the big picture and follow societal development, and you thrive in a coordinating role. You have the ability to concretize and create clarity regarding broad assignments for both external and internal collaboration partners. You have a communicative approach and experience in presenting, communicating, and engaging with different tools in various types of forums, both verbally and in writing, in both Swedish and English. Additional language skills may be meritorious.

To succeed in the role, we see that you have an easy time creating and developing good collaborations and relationships, as well as leading development work in a structured and trust-inspiring manner. You need to have a good understanding of working in a politically governed organization and good knowledge of the division of responsibility between different societal actors. It may be meritorious if you have worked with, or otherwise acquired good knowledge of, the regional development responsibility.

Our Recruitment Process
