The Counseling Unit Viva is the municipality's own outpatient care for persons from 18 years and older who have substance abuse or addiction problems. At our outpatient care, we offer treatment interventions for substance abuse or addiction problems regarding alcohol, drugs, or gambling. We offer treatment both individually and in groups. In addition to treatment interventions, we also offer support to relatives. We work in close cooperation with social secretaries at the unit for harmful use and dependence, with whom we also share a manager.

Job Responsibilities

As a social worker at the Counseling Unit Viva, you work with treatment interventions according to the national guidelines for addiction care. The Counseling Unit Viva offers, for example, CRA, twelve-step treatment, MI conversations, gambling treatment, relapse prevention, and support for relatives. You work according to the assignments that social secretaries give in their care plan and draw up a plan together with the client on how you will carry out the intervention. You work with both individual conversations and in a treatment group together with a colleague. In addition to the treatment interventions, it is also part of your role to cooperate closely with both internal and external partners where we need to coordinate any interventions.

Qualifications

For the role, the following is required:

• Education as a treatment pedagogue, social pedagogue, or equivalent education. The education should have a treatment-oriented content with a focus on addiction problems
• Education in MI (Motivational Interviewing)
• Education in Relapse Prevention

Personal Qualities

As a person, you are stable, mature, and confident in yourself, responsible, and have a good ability to independently organize your work. You have an easy time creating good relationships and a good ability to cooperate with both us and external parties. Furthermore, we see that you are a creative motivational factor who enjoys acting independently within given frameworks but is also flexible and can adapt when the situation requires it. As a person, you are open, curious, and have a good ability to see opportunities and can handle that we are a business with constant development issues. You also have a genuine interest in meeting the target group with addiction problems. You are also comfortable and confident in leading a treatment group.

As the comorbidity investigation is underway and the new Social Services Act that came into force in 2025, you need to be development-oriented because the business is facing new fun challenges.

Meritorious Qualifications

• University education in behavioral science
• Experience and knowledge in treatment work and social work that the employer considers relevant for the position
• Education in CRA
• Category B driver's license, as travel may occur in the job

Terms of Employment

The recruitment concerns a temporary position for approx. 1 year, with possible opportunity for shorter extension. Start date as soon as possible according to agreement.
