School Social Worker (Counselor) for Nygårdskolan in Borlänge

Job Responsibilities

Your primary task will be to work with students, staff, and guardians in a promoting and preventive manner. You must be able to conduct motivational, support, crisis, and conflict conversations with students. You will also conduct investigative and advisory conversations for individual students and guardians.

You will be part of our student health team together with the school leadership, school nurse, special needs pedagogue, and special needs teacher. We also expect you to maintain contact with, among others, social services and child and adolescent psychiatry (BUP), in consultation with the school leadership, students, and guardians. You are responsible for our school social surveys, which serve as the basis for interventions. You are also part of the school's safety team. In your role, you contribute to the creation of preventive action plans and other mapping required of a school social worker.

Qualifications

Basic requirements for the position:

• Degree in Social Work (Social Work) or other education assessed by the employer as equivalent.
• Very good oral and written skills in Swedish.

Personal qualities:

It is important that you have the ability to work independently and solution-focused from a holistic perspective. You need to be secure, resilient, and have clear communication skills. We also see that you have experience and interest in working in a pedagogical environment together with teachers. Meritorious qualifications:

• Previous experience from supportive work with children.
• Experience working with multilingual students.
• Education and experience in conducting motivational conversations with students.

Terms of Employment

• Salary: Monthly salary.
• Employment type: Fixed-term employment.
• Duration: 6 months or longer.
• Start date: Substitute position October 2026 – December 2027.
• Working hours: Daytime.
