Your Role

Do you want to contribute to strengthening Sweden's and all our customer countries' defense capabilities while working in a business where technology, commerce, and societal benefit meet?

We are looking for you who are driven and have experience in driving complex business operations - whether you come from procurement, project management, or contract management - and who wish to develop further in a strategic role within one of Sweden's most technology-intensive industrial projects.

As a Strategic Buyer within the Gripen Business Area, you will play a key role in ensuring long-term sustainable business arrangements with our suppliers within Systems and Instruments. You are responsible for the entire commercial process - from strategy formulation and contracting to ensuring operational performance together with your team. You will work in close collaboration with development, marketing, production, and after-sales.

The position is placed in an international context where the business is often complex and technically advanced. This requires a structured approach, the ability to lead supplier teams, and a good understanding of both business benefits and total cost perspectives.

Among other things, you will:

• Develop and implement procurement strategies within defined areas
• Negotiate commercial terms and design supplier agreements
• Lead and coordinate supplier teams in collaboration with other functions
• Establish and further develop relationships with both new and existing suppliers
• Monitor and analyze supplier performance related to cost, lead time, quality, and delivery capability
• Drive necessary initiatives purposefully and with structure

Your Profile

We are looking for you who have experience working strategically in business and who thrive in the intersection of technology, commerce, and business development. You have likely worked with procurement, project management, tendering, or contract management. Preferably in environments with a technical focus such as defense, aviation, or industrial production.

We particularly value:

• Ability to understand and analyze total cost over the lifecycle
• Interest in technology, preferably with experience from technical projects
• Good negotiation skills in complex and international environments
• Experience collaborating cross-functionally in larger organizations
• Ability to build good and long-term relationships

Formal Requirements:

• University degree in economics, engineering, or another relevant discipline
• Several years of experience from business-driven roles - e.g., strategic procurement, tendering, or project management
• Good communication skills in Swedish and English, both verbal and written

The position requires that you undergo and are approved according to the currently valid regulations for security clearance. For positions where Saab has requirements for security classification, this may, in some cases, entail requirements for specific citizenship.
