Statens institutionsstyrelse (SiS) is a government agency responsible for individualized compulsory care for young people and adults with substance abuse issues. SiS also implements closed youth care. We do this in youth homes and homes for adults with substance abuse problems across the country. At SiS, your working life becomes an exciting challenge. SiS LVM Home Fortunagården receives women aged 18 and over with substance abuse issues, and in most cases, also mental health challenges. We have 30 places distributed across three departments. We are located in Värnamo, Småland.

Job Description

We are looking for a nurse who can contribute to life-changing change.

Being a nurse with us is a varied job where the patient is in focus, and the nurse is responsible for their patients with coordination responsibility for the entire institution.

Your duties as a nurse include, among other things:

• Making assessments and conducting conversations with patients.
• Medication management.
• Being responsible for healthcare interventions included in the patient's treatment plan.
• Coordinating contacts with external healthcare providers together with other staff, e.g., doctors.
• Participating in doctor's visits.
• Documenting in the medical record system Take Care and in KAJ (client administrative medical record system).
• Participating in the institution's systematic quality work.
• Training and delegating medication management to treatment staff.

Women coming to SiS LVM Home Fortunagården have, in addition to their substance abuse, psychological and somatic problems. Our job is to turn around their difficult and sometimes life-threatening situations. The clients at the LVM home have suffered ill-treatment. Substance abuse, crime, and exclusion have left their mark, and many need healthcare.

Another challenge is that your patients are detained under compulsion.

As a nurse at SiS, you are part of a context where complementary competencies create results. You are part of a team and participate in treatment planning together with professional groups such as treatment secretaries and psychologists.

You will have the opportunity for regular further education.

You will receive training in MI (Motivational Interviewing).

Qualifications

Registered Nurse. We place great emphasis on personal suitability such as professional competence, teamwork skills, and commitment.

As a new employee, you will undergo SiS basic training for nurses.

Employment

The position is a permanent full-time position during daytime hours. A probationary period of 6 months applies. Start date by agreement.

You will receive a thorough introduction, including from our institution-responsible nurse, and ample time for shadowing.
