The Role of the Specialty Training Doctor

Rehabilitation medicine is focused on creating the best possible conditions for an individual to live an active and participatory life with a complex medical condition. Rehabilitation medicine competence is therefore broad and also contributes to good knowledge for you as a Specialty Training Doctor within areas such as neurology, psychiatry, pain management, internal medicine, insurance medicine, and orthopedics.

Within rehabilitation medicine, you work with people of working age who have suffered from brain injury, chronic pain, spinal cord injury, or other injuries/illnesses such as amputations, multiple trauma, or post-polio syndrome, which require coordinated specialized rehabilitation.

Coordinated interventions require teamwork. Unlike teams in other medical fields, work is often conducted in interprofessional teams. This means that the degree of coordination is very high, and targeted interventions are designed jointly by the team, which includes the person (and relatives) undergoing rehabilitation. As a doctor, you are the head of the team.

You are offered a permanent position with a start date to be agreed upon. Working hours are during daytime, Monday to Friday.

Your Future Workplace

The Department of Rehabilitation Medicine is a region-wide operation. In Jönköping, rehabilitation is provided for patients in need of inpatient rehabilitation or day rehabilitation. In Värnamo and Nässjö, day rehabilitation is available, and in Nässjö, there is also insurance medical activity. Since 2006, the department has been accredited by the American organization CARF, meaning the department is continuously quality-reviewed. The department constantly strives to be at the forefront, maintain high quality, and actively improve operations. Development occurs cross-professionally and in collaboration with others such as primary care, municipalities, patients, relatives, and patient associations.

Your Profile

To be considered for the position, you must be a licensed physician. We would appreciate it if you have an interest in digital technology and development and wish to contribute your knowledge on how we can better utilize technology's possibilities to streamline and improve our working methods.

As a person, we see that you have a structured working style and the ability to work both independently and in a team. In teamwork, you value good collaboration and effective communication. It is also important that you are flexible and can adapt when circumstances or approaches change. You understand your role and always consider the big picture and the best interests of the operation in your actions and decisions.
