Job Description
We are now looking for an employee for a night shift position at Crisis Center Housing Heder. Crisis Center Housing Heder is an HVB (home for care or housing) for young people with the legal gender of female, aged 14–22, who are exposed to honor-related violence and oppression or violence in close relationships and have a need for protection.
All placements are preceded by contact with the social services and can occur both planned and urgently, around the clock. The staff assists in assessing the need for protection.
As a social secretary working nights, you work in a team of five colleagues with a rotating schedule. Shifts are scheduled either from 16:00–03:00 (followed by on-call duty until 07:00) or between 20:00/20:30–07:15.
During parts of the night, you work together on-site. Between 03:00 and 07:00, one social secretary works alone in the facility, but always has access to a colleague on call who can be reached by phone and will come to the site if necessary. In addition, a manager is on call available for support and guidance.
At night, you primarily work with informative and, above all, supportive conversations, on-call phone calls, documentation, and collaboration with the Social Emergency Services. The work also consists of practical tasks in the housing facility and quiet activities for children and young adults in the evening. It is important that night staff motivate the placed youths to go to bed at a reasonable time, as sleep is often crucial for well-being. It is also important to have a good understanding of crisis and trauma.
Qualifications
We are looking for you who have a degree in social work and several years of relevant experience in social work. We also want you to have previously encountered cases involving honor-related violence and oppression as well as violence in close relationships through your work. It is an advantage if you have education and/or experience in the following areas:
- Protected housing
- HVB (Home for Care or Housing)
- Patriark
- FREDA
- Heva
- MI
- TMO
- Investigation within Child and Family Services
- Work with young people
As a person, we see that you have good cooperation skills that allow you to listen and show interest and understanding for other people. You have a good manner of treating people and the ability to quickly build good relationships with others. Furthermore, you should be able to plan your work independently and take responsibility for your tasks. You have great drive, are sensitive, and adapt easily to changed circumstances. Given the nature of the operations, it is of great importance that you communicate clearly, are confident in yourself, and have the ability to create trust. You should be able to make quick and clear decisions that may involve difficult choices. You should be able to take initiative, act with confidence, and work independently. It is important that you contribute to the work group and see the importance of being a team player. You should have the ability to listen, consult colleagues/managers, and communicate proactively.
You will work with young people and young adults in a collective where, as an employee, you are expected to handle the placed individuals individually but also in groups. Knowledge of conflict management is an advantage. It is of great importance that you show respect for the opinions and contributions of other group members (both colleagues and placed individuals).
You have good knowledge of the Swedish language, both spoken and written. If you master other languages, this is an advantage. Experience working nights is also an advantage for the position. A B-driver's license for a manually shifted car is desirable but not a requirement.
