Job Description

The Inner City section of the Foster Care Service (ASF) is currently recruiting two Child Secretaries (Barnsekreterare).

As a Social Secretary for children placed in foster care (Child Secretary), you are the designated contact person for the child, responsible for the case processing and follow-up. You monitor and investigate, as needed, interventions according to the Social Services Act (SoL) and the Law on Care of Young Persons (LVU). Your duties also include investigation, follow-up, and review of assistance according to "Children's Needs in Focus" (BBIC). You are responsible for ensuring the child's rights are upheld in contact with individuals in the child's network and other authorities, with special attention to the child's best interests. Your role as a Social Secretary also involves collaboration with other actors and motivational work with families based on the foster care placement.

Since many children are placed in foster homes throughout Scania, the job involves considerable travel, primarily by car.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who have a degree in Social Work (Social Work/Socionom) and previous experience in social work.

It is meritorious to have:

  • Several years of experience in social work after graduation
  • Previous experience working as an investigative social secretary within child and youth services
  • Work experience within the foster care service
  • Education and experience in BBIC and MI (Motivational Interviewing).

The work as a Child Secretary places high demands on your ability to build good relationships with the children and families you meet. To succeed in the job, you must also collaborate well with other parties, both internally and externally, and be able to easily adapt to changed circumstances and situations. We also look for someone with good structural skills who can plan, organize, and prioritize their work independently.

As the work largely involves communication and collaboration, it is a requirement that you can express yourself well in Swedish, both orally and in writing. A driver's license is required.
