Within the Child and Education Administration, our approximately 3,000 employees meet with around 14,000 children and students at more than 100 preschools and schools across the municipality every day. Every child and student in Sundsvall Municipality's preschools and schools should be able to develop, learn, and reach their goals according to their own prerequisites. Every student should leave school with the desire, knowledge, and good prerequisites to meet adult life and the future.

Sundsvall Gymnasium/Västermalm is an attractive and centrally located school; currently, over 1,000 students have chosen to complete their upper secondary education with us! Västermalm Gymnasium offers 9 upper secondary programs: The Natural Science Program, International Baccalaureate, The Engineering Program, Construction and Civil Engineering, The Vehicle Program, The Industrial Technology Program, The Electrical and Energy Program, The Child and Leisure Program, and The Health and Care Program!

We are now looking for an engaged and knowledgeable upper secondary teacher in Swedish and History who wants to become part of our team! Our ambitions are high. How you contribute in the role of upper secondary teacher

You will teach Swedish and History, as well as Swedish as a Second Language. The position includes mentoring, as well as participating in and being responsible for tasks within the program working group and subject group. You will work independently, as well as together with colleagues and students, in the subject- and program groups, to plan and carry out the pedagogical activities. You work with student goal achievement in focus in collaboration with school management and colleagues. You actively participate in the school's joint systematic quality work, collegial learning, and further education. We have a well-developed collaboration between the school's different professions, which means you will receive good support in various parts of the work.

Your competence and experience

We are primarily looking for you who are a certified upper secondary teacher in Swedish and History. We value your ability to meet students based on their knowledge and needs. You are flexible, knowledgeable, engaged, and see opportunities in changes. You have the ability to work independently and strive to prepare students for their future professional lives or for university studies every day.

We also see that you have good collaboration skills, enjoy working in teams, and are driven by creating good opportunities for our students to reach their goals every day! You like to take responsibility and see the mentor role as an important part of your work. You easily build trust and feel comfortable having contact with parents.

You value close collaboration with colleagues and are open to others' knowledge; you participate in collegial learning and have an interest in developing the school, even outside of teaching. You who apply are flexible, knowledgeable, structured, and communicative; but above all, very interested in good education, student learning, and teaching!

Good to know

Salary: Monthly/hourly salary. Individual and differentiated salary setting is applied.

Terms: Salary supplements beyond the monthly salary follow the applicable collective agreement. Central collective agreements can be found on the Swedish Association of Local Authorities and Regions' website, www.skr.se
