I am a 19-year-old guy with cerebral palsy (CP) and an intellectual disability. I have 24/7 assistance, including double assistance at all times except when I am at school. I am now looking for 1-2 assistants to join my wonderful team to work day and evening shifts. I would like you to start immediately, work with me this summer, and continue into the autumn. I am graduating this summer, and in the autumn, I will start my life as a young adult, with everything that entails. I am a social and active guy with many different activities and engagements in my daily life. The job as a personal assistant for me is about giving me the conditions to live as independent and valuable a life as possible. I have significant care needs with limited physical function, and you need to be in my immediate vicinity at all times to ensure security, safety, and well-being.

I have a great sense of humor, enjoy laughing, and easily charm those around me. I do not have my own verbal language but communicate using facial expressions, eye movements, and a variety of aids such as picture support, PODD books, eye-tracking computers, and signs as Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC). As an assistant, you need to be empathetic, curious, attentive, and willing to learn my way of communicating to be able to read my signals. You need to see a great positive challenge in enabling me to live as independent a life as possible, where my right to choose for myself is respected.

The Team Around the Customer

You will join a wonderful group of about 15 colleagues who are a tight-knit team. In our team, we value loyalty, engagement, responsibility, participation, and joy as important traits for fitting in and doing a good job. We highly value that you, as part of the team, can vary between playfulness, fun, patience, and being yourself. It is important that you have a sense of privacy, as the work takes place in a family home, meaning you need to be able to collaborate with both parents and siblings. There is double staffing both during the day and at night, so you will always work together with a colleague.

For the right person, there is an opportunity to start a team leader role in the autumn. We currently have two team leaders in the group responsible for planning Alex's assistance, both big and small tasks. This may involve collaboration with habilitation services, speech therapy, planning activities, and coordinating with the project manager regarding recruitment and staffing. As a team leader, you will be Alex's, the family's, and the project manager's right-hand person. We expect high engagement, attention to detail, initiative, and the ability to communicate and collaborate easily with regional authorities and colleagues.

Working Hours: Day & Evening

Employment Type: Summer temporary position with a chance to increase to 80%

Salary: Fixed hourly wage according to agreement. Other allowances according to collective agreement.

Start Date: Immediately for introduction; thereafter, we see you working a significant part of the position during the summer, with a chance to continue into the autumn.

• Non-smoker, as we are a smoke-free workplace
• Good physical fitness, as the job requires full mobility and strength
• Passionate about your work and want to make a difference for another person
• Experience as a personal assistant, preferably with young people!
