We are looking for a school counselor who wants to help drive the work forward and translate direction into concrete action, together with others.

Your Responsibilities

As a school counselor at Fridnässkolan, you are an important part of the student health team. You work to promote, prevent, and intervene to create good conditions for students' learning, development, and well-being. You offer supportive conversations to students, collaborate closely with guardians and staff, and contribute your psychosocial competence to the school's student health work.

The role includes working on safety and attendance, conducting absence investigations, handling bullying/harassment cases, and participating in the school's health-promoting initiatives. You also collaborate with external actors such as social services and Child and Adolescent Psychiatry (BUP) to provide students with the best possible support.

Your Qualifications

We are looking for you who are educated as a social worker (socionom) and have experience in holding supportive conversations. You have a strong commitment to contributing to increased goal achievement and well-being among students from a psychosocial perspective. You express yourself well in Swedish, both orally and in writing. It is an advantage if you have knowledge of the school's governing documents, such as the Education Act, the curriculum, and the Convention on the Rights of the Child, as well as experience with neuropsychiatric functional variations and society's various support functions. If you have previously worked within the school system and as a school counselor, we see this as an advantage.

As a person, you are secure and professional in your role, with good self-awareness and personal maturity. You work independently, structured, and with quality awareness, and you adapt easily to changing conditions. Since the role involves many contact points, we value good collaboration skills and a trust-building approach.

Fridnässkolan is a preschool class to grade 6 school (F-6) with 220 students and 30 employees. The school is centrally located, and the city's cultural offerings are within walking distance. Before you can be employed, we conduct a register check, and you need to present an approved extract from the police register.

In connection with the interview, you need to prove your citizenship. You can do this with a passport or alternatively a certificate of personal status together with an ID document. If you are not a citizen of Sweden, the EU, EEA, or Switzerland, you must show that you have a valid work permit or are exempt from the requirement to have a work permit. Employment can only take place after verification of the work permit, which is required according to the Alien Ordinance.
