In the 2023/2024 school year, 19,916 students did not complete compulsory school in Sweden. There are schools where 7 out of 10 students do not qualify for upper secondary education. At the non-profit foundation Läxhjälpen, you contribute your skills and commitment to help more students meet the qualification requirements with confidence in their future. We are now looking for new digital homework tutors! We are looking for you who are interested in a paid part-time job and at the same time want to make a concrete social contribution. The position is an hourly employment in the afternoons/evenings and essentially means being a digital homework tutor after school hours within the framework of our digital program. As a digital homework tutor, you meet students online and support them in their schoolwork via digital tools. You work in a team together with other tutors and receive training in, and work according to, our structured approach and method. A central part of the assignment is relationship building. As a digital homework tutor, you need to be able to "break through the screen", create safety and build trusting relationships with the students despite the physical distance. You are present, engaged and responsive, and understand how important relationships are for students' motivation, study environment, and development. As a homework tutor, you can work either as a regular digital homework tutor or as a substitute. As a regular tutor, you work approximately 6 hours per week, distributed over two scheduled afternoons/evenings (with the possibility of extra shifts). As a substitute, you work as needed when regular tutors are absent. The work is performed entirely digitally. We are looking for you who:

• Are studying at a university or college.
• Have good pedagogical skills and can communicate clearly, engagingly, and relationally with children and young people in digital environments.
• Are confident in leading and participating in digital meetings and have an easy time making contact and building trust online.
• Are solution-oriented, proactive, and can work according to our structured approach and method.
• Have broad basic subject competence and good study techniques.
• Share Läxhjälpen Foundation's values and vision of a society where all children grow up with the prerequisites to pass school and shape their own future.

Since the work involves working with children, we place great emphasis on personal suitability. Providing an extract from the police criminal record to the employer is a statutory requirement for working with children and young people. Differences between schools, where you live, where you come from, and what your parents do determine to a greater extent how likely you are to pass school. Läxhjälpen Foundation is a non-profit foundation that operates where it is needed most. Läxhjälpen is free for the students, and the tutors' salaries are financed through support from the business community and the public sector. Läxhjälpen is a concrete effort that addresses one of Sweden's biggest problems today - that more and more young people are not passing school and risk falling outside of society. Carefully selected, paid university students help young people with their studies two evenings a week and are at the same time positive role models and mentors. Since our start in 2007, we have developed a structured approach and a clear goal - grades should improve and students should progress to upper secondary education. We are today present in over 90 schools in, among other places, Stockholm, Södertälje, Västerås, Norrköping, Gothenburg, Landskrona, Umeå, Sundsvall, Uppsala, Gävle, and Malmö.
