About the Role
As a Family Home Consultant, you are a central part of a close-knit and dedicated team. You are responsible for a number of foster homes and serve as their most important professional support in daily life, from recruitment and matching to ongoing supervision and follow-up. The role requires you to enjoy building long-term relationships, making independent decisions, and managing multiple processes simultaneously.
Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Recruiting, investigating, and matching emergency and foster homes
- Supervising and supporting foster homes in their duties, even in complex situations
- Conducting home visits and following up on ongoing placements
- Collaborating with social services, schools, and other stakeholders regarding the child
- Documenting and reporting to the commissioning authority
- Participating in on-call duties according to a rotating schedule
We are looking for someone who:
Has a degree in Social Work or another equivalent higher education degree within social work, preferably with experience working with children and young people. You are a secure and solution-oriented person who navigates confidently through complex relationships between foster homes, children, biological networks, and social services. You enjoy working independently but value close teamwork and are happy to share your knowledge with colleagues.
You also have:
- Good knowledge of current legislation, especially the Social Services Act (SoL) and the Law on Care of Young Persons (LVU)
- The ability to maintain focus and structure even when the pace is fast
- A warm and professional approach in meetings with foster homes and children
- A B-class driver's license and enjoy driving, as the role involves regular home visits
Merits:
- Experience in foster care, investigation, or supervision of foster homes
- Training in BBIC, MI, Signs of Safety, or "A Home to Grow In"
- Training in investigation methods for foster homes, such as the Kälvesten Model
- Supervision training for foster homes

Practical Information
Employment type: Permanent, full-time with a 6-month probation period | Start date: According to agreement | Location: Gothenburg
