About Us

The Mobile Team for Antenatal Care in the Region of Västra Götaland (VGR) is a specialist unit for pregnant women with past or ongoing substance use. Patients are referred to us via midwife clinics, social services, or other healthcare units. The working group consists of midwives, counselors, and a consultant physician in antenatal care in each area, and we collaborate with, for example, the women's clinic, neonatal unit, child health center, psychiatry, and social services based on the patient's needs. The team works mobile within their catchment area.

There are three teams in the region with geographical divisions: Northern (Trollhättan/Uddevalla), Eastern (Skara/Skövde), and Southern (Alingsås/Sjuhärad). The current position is located in Skaraborg, based in Skövde. We collaborate closely with Hagamottagningen in Gothenburg and share a common manager.

About the Role

As a counselor in the team, you will meet pregnant women who are worried about their use of alcohol, drugs, or medication, as well as pregnant women who need support to abstain from alcohol and/or drugs during pregnancy. You also provide support to those who need help discontinuing treatment with medications that may be harmful to the fetus. Your assignment involves a deepened psychosocial focus with the aim of ensuring the pregnant woman has access to the interventions she needs and together creating a sustainable plan for the upcoming parenthood. Together with the team, you work to ensure the pregnant woman has a drug-free and sober pregnancy.

The work is based on a holistic view where both family and network are included. The assignment involves extensive collaboration, both internally within healthcare and externally with other actors. You mobilize interventions from authorities and other important partners for the patient to ensure long-term and coordinated support. The role also includes spreading and maintaining knowledge about the unit's operations and the target group's needs, as well as building and maintaining a professional contact network for continued collaboration and efficient mobilization of society's resources.

About You

We are looking for you who are a social worker and preferably a licensed healthcare counselor. You should have good knowledge of relevant legislation, such as the Social Services Act (SoL) and the Health and Medical Services Act (HSL). It is an advantage if you have experience of authority exercise within social services, as well as experience in child and family work and knowledge of addiction issues.

As a person, you find it easy to collaborate in teams with different professions, while also enjoying working independently and taking personal responsibility. You express yourself well in both speech and writing and have an interest in working at the individual, group, and societal levels. You want to actively contribute to the development of the operations and are curious to help shape future working methods. We place great emphasis on personal suitability.

Conditions

The position is located in Skövde. The role involves travel within the Region of Västra Götaland, which means a valid B driving license is a requirement.

Selection and interviews will take place continuously during the application period.

Salary form: Monthly salary, individual salary setting.

We look forward to receiving your application!
