The operations of the Culture and Education Administration include upper secondary school, adapted upper secondary school, adult education, youth clubs, cultural schools, cultural houses, libraries, museums, art halls, tourism, event operations, facilities, Nolhaga Ice Hall, Nolhaga Farm, Nolhaga Park Bath, and support for associations. Approximately 420 employees work within the entire administration.

Alströmergymnasiet in Alingsås Municipality is an upper secondary school with approximately 1,250 students distributed across 11 national programs, adapted upper secondary school, and introductory programs, which also include language classes for newly arrived students. The educational operations are divided into seven sectors, each led by a principal, and together we are more than 220 employees.
We are now looking for an engaged social pedagogue for the adapted upper secondary school who wants to help give students the best conditions to develop, become more independent, and prepare for adult life.

RESPONSIBILITIES
As a social pedagogue, you work closely with students and are an important part of their entire school day. You create a safe, clear, and structured learning environment and support students' social development, communication, and independence based on their individual needs. The role includes using augmentative and alternative communication (AAC), training social interaction and life skills, and providing support in everyday situations.
You actively work with attendance-promoting initiatives, recess activities, and equal treatment work, and are available as a support for students during school breaks, both during recesses and between lessons. The work is done in close collaboration with teachers, guardians, and the student health team to create the best conditions for each student's development, participation, and well-being.
QUALIFICATIONS
We are looking for you who have:
- Education from a university college (YH) or folk high school as a social pedagogue
- Good knowledge of neuropsychiatric disabilities and a low-affective approach that gives students good conditions to succeed both socially and in their learning
It is an advantage if you have experience working in adapted schools as a social pedagogue or in similar roles.
You need to have the ability to listen, be patient, and understand how students absorb knowledge based on their different conditions. You work from a salutogenic approach, where the focus is on what the student can do and feels good about, rather than difficulties. The role also requires a calm and stable attitude, as well as a good ability to create safe relationships that support the student's development and participation.
