The Culture and Education Administration

Job Responsibilities
As a social pedagogue, you work close to the students and are an important part of their entire school day. You create a safe, clear, and structured learning environment and support the students' social development, communication, and independence based on their individual needs. The assignment includes using alternative and augmentative communication (AAC), training social interaction and life skills, and providing support in everyday situations.
You work actively with attendance-promoting measures, recess activities, and equal treatment work, and are available as a support for the students during school breaks, both during recess and between lessons. The work takes place in close collaboration with teachers, guardians, and the student health team to create the best prerequisites for each student's development, participation, and well-being.
Qualifications
We are looking for you who have:
- Education from a university college (YH) or folk high school as a social pedagogue
- Good knowledge of neuropsychiatric disabilities and a low-affective approach that gives students good prerequisites for succeeding both socially and in their learning
It is meritorious if you have experience working in adapted schools as a social pedagogue or similar work.
You need to have the ability to listen, be patient, and understand how students absorb knowledge based on their different prerequisites. You work from a salutogenic approach, where the focus is on what the student can do and feels good about rather than difficulties. The role also requires a calm and stable attitude, as well as a good ability to create safe relationships that support the student's development and participation.
