Communicator/Citizen Guide at Eksjö Municipality

Eksjö Municipality is a safe and vibrant community that welcomes everyone. Here you will find both urban and rural areas, rich in history and forward-looking spirit. Both small entrepreneurs and large companies thrive here. The proximity to nature and community offers opportunities for a meaningful leisure time. The municipality is one of the largest employers, and with your help, we want our residents to live good lives. We achieve this by collaborating, working sustainably, and valuing your skills and commitment.

Do you want to combine creative communication with close contact with people?

Do you thrive in a role where one day you produce content for digital channels and the next day you help residents navigate the municipality's services? Then this might be the job for you.

To the Communications Department of Eksjö Municipality, we are now looking for a Communicator/Citizen Guide for a fixed-term assignment. This is a combined role where you work approximately half-time as a communicator and half-time in the municipality's contact center. Here you will have the opportunity to both create and convey communication while meeting the questions of residents, businesses, and associations.

1 position(s).

Responsibilities

As a communicator, you will work in a varied and broad manner across the entire communications field. Your tasks will primarily focus on writing assignments, social media, graphic production, and web publishing, but on the department, we help each other out. This means you may also get to work with crisis communication, strategic work, and other common assignments.

As a citizen guide, you will work with providing information, guidance, and service to the municipality's residents, associations, businesses, and other authorities. You do this via visits, phone, email, chat, and social media. The contact center also works with internal service, such as being responsible for the municipality's telephone system and ordering telephone units, as well as handling access systems and vehicles.

The work is scheduled between the two assignments, but you need to be flexible and able to switch between areas of work when the operations require it.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who are service-oriented, solution-focused, and thrive in a role with many contact surfaces. You are confident in yourself and enjoy working both independently and in collaboration with others. You are structured, take responsibility for your tasks, and can prioritize even when the pace is high.

We want you to:

  • Have an academic education in media and communication science or another relevant education that we assess as equivalent
  • Have very good digital competence and find it easy to get into new systems
  • Be able to search for, absorb, and convey information in a clear and easy-to-understand way
  • Be a skilled writer with very good ability to express yourself in speech and writing in Swedish
  • Have knowledge of graphic design and experience with Adobe Creative Cloud, especially InDesign and Photoshop
  • Have a B driver's license.

It is meritorious if you have experience in communication work and/or customer service. We would also appreciate if you have worked with CMS tools, social media, and/or the Office package.

If you have experience from working in the public sector, that is good, but not necessary. However, we believe you need to have a commitment to societal issues and to the municipality as a place to thrive with us. It is a plus if you have local knowledge of Eksjö Municipality.

Great importance is placed on personal qualities.

From the perspective of the communicator role, we see it as positive if you can attach work samples or links to work samples with your application. This can be both printed material, moving images, and/or texts.

Welcome to apply!

Employment Terms

You are covered by a pension agreement and have the possibility of extended parental leave. To facilitate commuting to and from work, we offer a favorable bicycle scheme, and you may have the opportunity to try a flexible ticket in public transport. Many of the benefits you receive as an employee are governed by our collective agreements.
