We are now looking for a Public Health Developer who wants to contribute to developing Region Kalmar County's work for good and equitable health. Here, you will become part of an engaged team where collaboration, analysis, and development are at the center. We work long-term to reduce health disparities and create conditions for a sustainable society throughout Kalmar County. The work is carried out in collaboration with municipalities, authorities, civil society, academia, business, and within the region's own operations.
As a Public Health Developer, you will play a central role in strategic public health work. It is a varied job with great opportunities to influence your working day. You translate knowledge into action and contribute to making a health-promoting and preventive perspective a natural part of the region's work and regional development. The assignment includes, among other things, analyzing and describing the health status of the population based on statistics, research, and environmental scanning, coordinating and following up on the region's strategic public health work, initiating, leading, and supporting development initiatives together with internal and external collaboration partners, and contributing to knowledge development for public health work in Kalmar County. The work is carried out in close collaboration with many different actors and involves some travel, mainly within the county.
About you
We are looking for you who have a degree in public health science or another education that the employer considers equivalent. You have experience in strategic planning and development work within public health, social sustainability, or similar areas. You have knowledge of how societal factors affect people's health and living conditions.
To succeed in your assignment, you need to have good experience in leading processes strategically as well as good structure and endurance in your work. You need to have a good ability to build relationships and enjoy working with several complex areas simultaneously. If you have previous experience of collaboration with public actors and civil society and are used to incorporating different cross-sectional perspectives in your work, this is meritorious. It is also positive if you have experience of working in a politically governed organization.
As a person, you are full of ideas, proactive, and see opportunities to develop working methods based on new knowledge and changed needs. You take great responsibility for your tasks so that you plan, organize, monitor the environment, and independently drive your processes forward. You communicate in a way that creates engagement and involvement, and you are good at building, developing, and holding together groups and networks. Your analytical ability is high with a good capacity to connect research-based theory to practice and see patterns and connections between different areas. You are communicatively secure in writing, presentation, and dialogue, and your digital skills are good.
Your future workplace
The position is located within Regional Development Administration, Leadership Support, with a workplace in central Kalmar.
