About the School

Practical Gymnasium Luleå offers students a concept where theory is interspersed with practical exercises both inside the school and out at workplaces. At Practical, we hold ourselves to high standards to create the best conditions for a educational and fun education. Our teaching is characterized by flexibility, proximity, and practical learning. Our program offerings include: Construction and Infrastructure, Vehicles and Transport, Sales and Service, Hairdressing and Styling, Hotel and Tourism, Industrial Technology, and Plumbing and Property. Currently, the school has approximately 300 students and about 35 employees.

The school offers apprenticeship training within several national vocational programs. Today we have around 300 students and 35 employees who together create a learning environment characterized by cooperation and commitment. Since autumn 2021, the entire school has been gathered under one roof at Ålgatan 10, which has increased opportunities for contact and collaboration throughout the school.

Your Role

The position is a permanent full-time role in Mathematics and Natural Sciences. You will teach and supervise our students in Mathematics and Natural Sciences. The role includes having your own classes in mathematics and natural sciences, reinforcement in some of our mathematics groups, and studio work. Together with other colleagues, you will be part of a working group consisting of upper secondary school teachers in the common upper secondary subjects as well as characteristic subjects. You will also be linked to one of our programs as a mentor. We see you as an important and driving force to, with the students in focus and in collaboration with colleagues, develop both the program and the subject. In addition to subject-specific tasks, you, like other teachers at the school, have duties such as mentor, and together you and your colleagues coach the students both socially and academically through their three years at Practical Gymnasium. We communicate primarily through Schoolsoft, and we work in a Google environment through sharing digital documents, calendars, and planning, both with students and colleagues.

We are looking for you who are a certified upper secondary school teacher in mathematics and natural sciences. We place great emphasis on personal qualities. We value your ability to meet students based on their knowledge and needs, and that you identify with our values and keywords. Our students are eager to enter the working life, and your biggest task is to lead them there!
