About the School

Praktiska Gymnasiet Luleå offers students a concept where theory is interspersed with practical exercises both in school and at workplaces. At Praktiska, we hold ourselves to high standards to create the best conditions for a educational and fun education. Our teaching is characterized by flexibility, proximity, and practical learning. Our program offerings include: Construction and Infrastructure, Vehicles and Transport, Sales and Service, Hairdressing and Styling, Hotel and Tourism, Industrial Technology, and Plumbing and Property. Currently, the school has approximately 300 students and about 35 employees.

Your Role

The position is a permanent full-time employment starting as agreed. You will teach and supervise our students within the Construction and Infrastructure program, specializing in painting, and together with other colleagues, you will be part of a work team consisting of vocational teachers and teachers in general upper secondary subjects, linked to the Construction and Infrastructure program. We see you as an important and driving force to develop both the program and the teaching, with the students in focus and in collaboration with colleagues.

In addition to job-specific tasks, you, like other teachers at the school, have duties such as being a mentor. Together, you and your colleagues coach the students both socially and academically throughout their three years at Praktiska Gymnasiet. We communicate primarily through SchoolSoft and work in a Google environment by sharing digital documents, calendars, and plans.

Your Profile

We are primarily looking for you who are a certified vocational teacher in painting. We place great importance on personal qualities. You who lack teacher certification have the opportunity to apply for the position. You and the school principal will jointly draw up a plan for how you can become certified in the shortest possible way. The job duties include contact with business life as a large part of the students' study time consists of workplace-based learning (APL), and therefore good communication with employers is meritorious.

We value your ability to meet students based on their knowledge and needs, and that you identify with our value base and our keywords. Our students are eager to enter working life, and your biggest task is to lead them there!
