The Culture School in Piteå is tuition-free and is characterized by high quality, commitment, and a strong focus on the development, curiosity, and participation of children and young people. We offer teaching in music, dance, and art, as well as short courses in other aesthetic expressions.
The operations are conducted in close collaboration with preschools, primary schools, special needs schools, and upper secondary schools. We are also responsible for instrument teaching within the music profile at the upper level of Christinaskolan and the music specialization of the Aesthetic Programme.
You will become part of a committed and competent team where we work closely together to develop our activities. We have a good collaborative climate both within the Culture School and with other school forms as well as the municipality as a whole.

Job Description
As a brass teacher, you are primarily responsible for teaching brass instruments to children and young people aged 9–19, from beginner to advanced levels. You meet students with different backgrounds and experiences and create a safe and inspiring learning environment where every student can develop based on their prerequisites and be involved in their learning.
You will be part of a subject group together with other wind instrument teachers.
Your responsibilities include:
- teaching brass instruments
- conducting teaching individually, in small groups, as well as in ensembles and orchestras
- planning, implementing, and following up on teaching based on students' needs and prerequisites
- leading ensemble and orchestra activities together with colleagues, including conducting
- planning and participating in concerts, projects, and cross-artistic collaborations
- planning and participating in camp activities and orchestra trips
- teaching class music when needed, primarily in the lower grades of primary school
Teaching takes place in the premises of the Culture School and primary schools, mainly during the day but also in the afternoons and evenings. Some teaching may take place within special needs schools. Camp activities and trips may be included in the position.
Qualifications
A music teacher education with a focus on brass instruments, as well as a B-class driver's license and access to a private car, are requirements for the position.
It is an advantage if you:
- have specific expertise in trumpet
- master multiple instruments
- have experience in project work and artistic collaborations
- have experience teaching in primary schools
- have experience in orchestra leadership and conducting

- have good pedagogical skills and experience working with children and young people of different ages
- are confident in your leadership and have a flexible working approach
- have an inclusive and professional attitude
- enjoy working both independently and in close collaboration with colleagues

Other Information
The position is a permanent full-time employment (probationary period may apply). Holiday employment. Start date August 12 or as agreed. Working hours are day, evening, and occasional weekends.
