The County Administrative Board is an expert authority in areas such as nature and environment, community planning and rural areas, directly subordinate to the Government. We act as a link between people, municipalities, regions and various authorities. We work to ensure that national goals are implemented in the county. We do this by looking at the whole picture in our authority's operations, by conveying knowledge and by coordinating and developing various substantive issues. Sustainable development gives the future opportunities in a Södermanland for all.

Description

The Agricultural Support Unit works with processing, controlling and deciding on area- and animal-based support to agriculture. We process support on behalf of both the Swedish Board of Agriculture and the Swedish Environmental Protection Agency. The unit has related assignments within supervision, inventories and advisory services. Currently, we are running the projects "Sörmland's Species-Rich Lowland Areas" and "A Rich Cultivated Landscape".

At the unit, we work closely together with great flexibility. The work is seasonal with many deadlines. This also means a lot of service, and to thrive with us you need to have a positive attitude towards service tasks.

Currently, the Agricultural Support Unit is part of the Division for Business Management and Support. Since there is an ongoing review of the organization, this may change.

Job Responsibilities

We are looking for a case officer who will work with processing and investigation within agricultural support and, as needed, carry out controls of land and/or animals during independent field visits. Depending on previous experience, you will either start as an area controller or as a case officer.

As a controller, you assess crops and regulatory compliance on-site at the farm. You communicate your assessments to the operator and document what you have seen. As a case officer, you assess the material, administer dispatches and compile results. Tasks within, among other things, diaries and telephone service take place throughout the year.

You will also participate in the ongoing work to develop our operations. As needed and based on ability, you may be assigned additional tasks. Parts of the year it may become relevant to strengthen the project group within, for example, advisory services, inventories or event planning. You may also be made available to other units through the cooperation we have with, for example, animal welfare and rural development.

Qualifications and Profile

We are looking for you who have relevant higher education and at least 6 months of experience in authority operations or equivalent experience that the employer considers equivalent. Your education should be linked to the nature and/or cultural values of the agricultural landscape or agricultural production, for example agronomist, biologist, landscape scientist or archaeologist. You should have good knowledge of agricultural policy and the conditions of farming, as well as master the basics of practical farming or animal husbandry.

A B-driver's license for a manual gearbox is a requirement.

It is meritorious if you have:

  • Experience of field controls, maintenance of the block database or processing of agricultural support
  • Experience of advisory services within agriculture
  • Experience of telephone support and/or event planning
  • Experience of supervision or audit within the agricultural sector
  • Education or knowledge acquired in other ways about limnic systems, soil science, animal welfare, animal protection, inventories in the agricultural landscape or other related areas.
  • Education or knowledge acquired in other ways within administrative law, project management, public procurement, accounting or data processing.

We place great emphasis on your personal qualities. You have a professional approach and very good knowledge of the Swedish language. We assume that you have good computer skills.

To succeed in your role, you also need to have the ability to cooperate and to communicate clearly, pedagogically and adapted to the target group. You can independently and carefully carry out your tasks and at the same time deliver good quality within set time limits. Since we help each other to succeed with the entire work group's assignment, you also need to have flexibility to switch between tasks.

The employment is permanent. A probationary period of six months may be applied.
