Your workplace

At our Planning and Finance Department, controller competence is consolidated within the Controller Unit. The unit consists of 25 controllers who together help and support Region Värmland in its various core tasks. We are now looking for a new Business Controller with a focus on supporting the healthcare economy. Our mission is to act as a specialist competence that pedagogically implements economic strategy and analysis work so that managers have natural economic thinking linked to the operations.

Your responsibilities

As a Business Controller, you work primarily independently but also closely with your colleagues. You will mainly work with budgeting, forecasting, follow-up, accounting, investments, calculations, and price calculations. Furthermore, you will evaluate analyses within healthcare, service, and in internal and external projects within the operations.

In the role, you are a non-voting member of the management group in one or several operational areas. By recommending and participating in decisions, you have an indirect influence on goals and decisions within the operational area.

Your skills and competencies

To thrive in the role, you should be educated as an economist and have a few years of experience from a role as a controller or similar analytical financial function. You have worked close to operations and are accustomed to using economics as a tool for management and development. You are confident in leading leaders without being a manager yourself. As a person, you are driven, open to change, and curious. You are strong communicatively and can adapt both presentation techniques and pedagogy to the target audience based on the situation.

You have experience in economic strategy and analysis work, preferably within a larger organization. You are accustomed to working with budgeting, forecasting, follow-up, reporting, and writing economic reports.

It is a given for you to work in steering, reporting, and financial systems. You have good knowledge of Office 365 and very good knowledge of Excel. The role involves writing reports and presenting economic information to the operations in an easily understandable manner.

In the role, you need to be analytical and have a coaching approach. You should also have good ability to draw conclusions and create an overview in complex work with extensive information gathering.
